Product Details
Replica of the Anglo-Saxon ringthat supposedly belonged to Princess Æthelswith. Dated from the IX century.
The original is made of gold with enamel decoration and is exhibited at the British Museum, London.
Æthelswith lived between 838 and 888 A.D. and was the only known daughter of King Æthelwulf of Wessex and thus the sister of the English King Alfred the Great. Æthelswith became queen when she married King Burgred of Mercia in 853, alliance that came about when both Wessex and Mercia were ravaged by Viking raids.
It is handmade of bronze.

1,8 cm x 2 cm.
